El estudio analiza las condiciones de habitabilidad en el refugio CEN del Bañado Tacumbú, Asunción, mediante un enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal, con censo a 102 hogares. Se aplicó un cuestionario estructurado vía KoboToolbox. La estadística descriptiva reveló que el 67 % de los jefes de hogar tiene escolaridad primaria, el 61 % trabaja en empleos informales y el 26 % padece enfermedades crónicas. El 44 % usa sanitarios comunitarios y el 32 % vive en hacinamiento medio o crítico. Los análisis multivariados mostraron asociación significativa entre bajo nivel educativo y empleo informal (χ², p < 0.001), y entre hacinamiento y enfermedades crónicas (OR = 2.5, p = 0.015). El análisis de componentes principales agrupó indicadores en dos dimensiones: infraestructura y vulnerabilidad social. Se concluye que las condiciones no cumplen estándares mínimos de habitabilidad digna.

This study examines habitability conditions at the CEN shelter in Bañado Tacumbú, Asunción, using a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional design and a census of 102 households. Data were collected with a structured questionnaire administered via KoboToolbox. Descriptive statistics showed that 67% of household heads had only primary education, 61% engaged in informal employment, and 26% reported chronic illnesses. Forty-four percent used communal sanitation facilities, and 32% lived in moderate or severe overcrowding. Multivariate analyses revealed a significant association between low educational attainment and informal employment (χ², p < .001) and between overcrowding and chronic disease (OR = 2.5, p = .015). Principal component analysis (PCA) grouped indicators into two dimensions: infrastructure and social vulnerability. The findings indicate that current conditions fall short of minimum standards for adequate housing.
